Colin Farrell fought hard to get The Penguin to smoke in Batman (2022), but to no avail
Story
Following the events of Batman (2022), Oz Cobb aka the Penguin makes a play to take over Gotham’s criminal underworld. Except for the bat sign in the final shot of the season finale, we never got a cameo from Robert Pattinson in “The Penguin.” In this short video, IMDb attempts to answer: Where the hell was Batman? However, in his own series, the character is depicted as a casual smoker who prefers to smoke cigars.

But after episode 1, I can confirm that this show is amazing (so far)
I thought Colin Farrell was great as the Penguin in Batman, but I never understood how they would take a skinny, attractive actor and put him in huge prosthetics and a fat suit… especially when I think he looks just like some of the other famous actors who would have been just as good too. I also didn’t really understand why this spin-off came about and to be honest, I’m sick of Batman reboots. I only watched it because I knew there was a bridge between the first and second movie and I was surprised that Farrell had a role in the first one.
But I didn’t expect to like it as much
The acting is fantastic, the writing is great, and he surprised me with some quick twists. What I liked most was that there was a lot more color in this than in Batman. I noticed this almost immediately as the movie was a great excuse for me (I felt like I was watching it through a Zack Snyder lens).
I hope this stays as good as it has been because I really can’t wait for the next installment
